About Coastal Risk Consulting, LLC
Our Mission
The mission of Coastal Risk Consulting is to help communities, businesses and governments get climate ready and storm safe. Our customer model promotes resilience by the identification of climate change threats, the assessment of potential consequences and the evaluation of adaptation solutions.
Our Company
Coastal Risk Consulting, LLC (CRC) is a unique company entirely focused on assisting communities, businesses and governments in the US and around the World to better adapt to current and future climate impacts, in particular coastal flooding, storm surge and sea level rise. What sets CRC apart from other consulting firms is our holistic and multi-disciplinary “dream team” of experts that includes all of the capabilities needed to provide your organization with cost-effective and real-world solutions to today’s climate change challenges. Our team includes experts in: engineering, architecture, geospatial analysis and planning, natural systems, regulatory and legal changes, and public health.
Our Work
CRC works on various scales from assisting small, beachfront towns to critically important, health care facilities to large corporations. Smaller communities may be confronted with serious beach erosion and storm-water management problems. Health care providers will need to remain open and functioning during storm events to care for the sick and injured. For multinational companies, CRC experts critically evaluate such climate-related issues as: (1) availability of raw materials; (2) location of factories (are they in areas particularly threatened by climate impacts); (3) availability of alternative energy supplies and water resources; (4) logistics and shipping (vulnerability of supply chains); and, (5) regulatory and legal changes occurring now and on the horizon.
Coastal Risk Consulting has an excellent understanding of best practices and can provide advice on specific issues such as planning and urban design, sustainable design and construction, transportation, water management, flood risk and coastal management, emergency preparedness, health impact assessment, and biodiversity issues.
